Driver Training

Locators are very aware of the increased demands in the work environment to meet the latest and ongoing requirements of Health & Safety and government legislation. We provide a comprehensive programme covering all makes and models of forklift and warehouse equipment and can offer courses designed for the complete novice through to refresher and conversion training for experienced operators. These training packages allow you to fully comply with all of your requirements and obligations under the Health & Safety at work Act.

There is a misconception among some operators that ‘any training will do’. There are in fact specific guidelines and recommendations made by the HSE that need to be considered and followed to meet and achieve the standards of training required.

Locators trainers are all registered with RTITB (Road Transport Industry Training Board), AITT (Association of Industrial Truck Trainers) and ITSSAR (Independent Training Standards Scheme and Register) and are qualified to train operators to meet ALL of the latest HSE requirements.

Courses Available

2 Day Novice Operator

For operators with no or very little experience to achieve the operating standards recommended in the HSE Approved Code of Practice. The Certificate is valid for 3 years.

1 Day Refresher

For certificated operators to refresh their operating practice and renew their training certificates before their licence expires.

2 Day Conversion

For certificated operators who now need to use other types of forklift truck.

1 Day Familiarisation

For certificated operators who need to operate the same type of truck, but with an alternative engine type.

2 Day Existing

For experienced operators who are not certificated to achieve the operating standards recommended in the HSE Approved Code of Practice. The Certificate is valid for 3 years.

An operator with an expired licence will need to attend either an Existing or a 2 day Novice Operator course dependant on the time since expiry of the licence.

The quoted duration of the course is for the training of an individual operator ­ the course length may increase for groups of operators.
